Wedding Showers

If you live on the east coast you know that we’ve been having lots of rain. I’m sure many brides are worried that Mother Nature will throw a curve ball on their wedding day. But don’t panic; come up with a contingency plan. To prepare yourself for a chance of showers, pick up some wedding day umbrellas. That $5.00 umbrella just won’t due on your wedding day. For full coverage, be sure to purchase golf size umbrellas which are 60 inches in diameter.

You can also step it up with these lovely vintage umbrellas I found @ http://www.bellaumbrella.com/. Their great vintage umbrella will not be an eye sore on your wedding day. They also have an attachment you can purchase to add small bouquet to the end of the handle.

I also found this white satin umbrella from totes. Yes it’s satin but it’s also rainproof so don’t worry.

For personalized umbrellas, visit http://www.golfumbrella.com/ . You can add you names, date and message to the handles. This can double as utility and a great gift for your wedding part.

Bridal Bouquets That Sparkle

Adding a little extra something to the bride’s bouquet is a trend that may never go out of style. That extra sparkle brings a little luxury in a big way. You can mix in with your flowers or place it on the stems. You can personalize it with your initials or a favorite broach. Here's some bling inspiration!

The Groom's Cake

We all remember the famous groom’s cake from Steel Magnolias, the armadillo red velvet cake, the best groom’s cake ever!! Most brides wouldn’t choose the armadillo but if that’s what your groom is into why not?!

Do you know why there is a groom’s cake? Well after some research, I now know why so I thought I’d share it with you. The groom's cake is a smaller cake that is served at the wedding reception. Young unmarried women are supposed to take a piece of the groom's cake home to place under their pillows and the old wives tale says they will marry whomever they dream of that night. It’s like believing in Santa Clause but it is cute story to tell. I think it would be a unique idea to give all your single friends a piece of the cake with a note attached about the groom's cake tradtion. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to insult anyone so before you go with that idea, think about what it may come across to your friends. The groom’s cake is a southern tradition but it’s rather popular amongst us all. It’s also making a big come back. The groom’s cake should reflect the groom’s personality. Here are some groom’s cakes that clearly had the groom in mind.

A Goody Jar!!

When it comes to favors, I always advise my brides to choose something edible or usable. These mini monogrammed jars are the perfect way to package a sweet treat for your guest. They bring back wonderful childhood memories of grandmother’s cookie jar.

Personal & Delicious Wedding Favors

Last week I came across this cute & delicious favor idea on http://www.weddingbeepro.com/ courtesy of Kimberly of Blue Ribbon Designs. My favorite wedding favors are edible ones!! These cookie favors are a great favor and best of all they are personal. The couple included their family recipe for the cookies and of course the colors of the packaging matched their color palette of chartreuse and brown. This is a great DIY favor that is pretty simple to assemble. All you need is clear cellophane bags, customized labels and print the recipe on matching paper. Don’t forget to bake the cookies of course. Presto, you have wedding favors!!

Take Your Monogram Every Where!

This is a great feature I found on http://www.weddingstand.com/. This is a simple way to personalize your wedding. You can create your own monogram. There are over 20 designs and colors to choose from so you can make it your own. Once you have customized the monogram, they will send it to you as a high resolution jpg file on a CD. You can apply this to your invitations, favors, place cards and anything you would like to personalize. If you are a DIY, this is perfect for you. This adds a professional design to all of your DIY projects.

Wedding Graffiti

Wedding Graffiti has become the new trend in wedding personalization. It’s a simple way to make a huge statement at your wedding. One of my favorite ways to implement wedding graffiti is by displaying your monograms or a design on the dance floor. This is an economic alternative to hiring a lighting company to display your monogram on the dance floor of your reception.

Wonderful Wedding Graffiti also has many great ideas to personalize your wedding day. Here are some of my favorites!!

These wine wraps add a personal and elegant touch to the ever popular wine bottle favor.

I love this idea of the menu on the wall. It’s the perfect backdrop for a buffet style reception with different food stations.

There are so many I can’t choose but just one more!! These delightful table top signs are a great way to invite your guest to a favor and say thank you on their way out.
