The Year In Review

When the year is coming to an end, I tend to take a look back at all the wonderful things that took place.  So I decided t take a look at all the wonderful things that took place on the blog this year.  Let’s take a look shall we!

1)      The 2010 patone’s color of the year was turquoise and the inspiration board was a big hit amongst my readers.  I’m looking forward to 2011 color honeysuckle. Inspiration boards coming soon.

2)      I attended two great events and did a vlog (video blog) post on it.  Thanks YouTube for freeze framing at the wrong times.   

3)      The blog got a makeover!! See above!!

Fall Wedding Favors - Apple Season

Fall in NYC means apple season which means apple picking which means lots of apple treats.  If you are looking for a wedding favor for your fall wedding, an apple treat will be a great way to incorporate the fall  season into your wedding.  My two favorite are apple treats are apple pies and candied apples.  You can’t go wrong with either!!

Fall Has Arrived

Fall has officially started as of 11:00 pm yesterday here in NYC.  Although it feels like a beautiful summer day, fall is here.  To celebrate the change of the season, I wanted to share some past fall inspiration boards I've created with you.   

This is what I would like to call a soft side of fall.  Warm colors and soft tones with a romantic glow.

Purple was the new black in 2010.  This is a new way to have a fall wedding instead of the traditional color schemes of orange, yellow and brown.

Mustard yellow is a traditional fall color.  It's classic and you can't go wrong with it.  But this inspiration board mixes the traditional with some modern elements.

Fall Wedding Inspiration - Pink, Brown & Mauve

I know we are in the middle of one of the hottest summers ever but I keep counting down the days until the fall. Not that I’m wishing for cooler weather but I am wishing for fall weddings. I love the change from bright colors to warm tones and I look forward to the fall wedding season. Here’s the first of many inspiration boards.

Fall Wedding - Purple

Purple is a color that can be used during any season. For the fall, I suggest a deep shade of purple like eggplant or plum. You can go monochromatic or add accent colors like silver, pink or merlot. Here is my Fall Purple Inspiration Board. I hope you enjoy it!

Fall Wedding Purple Inspiration – Essie’s nail polish

One Sunday I was out doing my usual Sunday routine, gym, grocery store and then a pedicure. It was the first weekend in October so I in the fall mood. When the fall begins my colors of choice begin become darker and richer tones so it was time to leave my pinks behind. As I was in deep thought to make the right choice and found Essie’s Bahama Mama. Love it!! It’s in the eggplant family but one slight shade lighter. This deep purple is a great color for the fall in your wardrobe, nail polish and of course for a fall wedding. Fall Wedding Inspiration - Yellow, Brown & Gold

Recently I was up early and the cool fall breeze hit me harder than my wardrobe allowed. So thinking on my feet, I found a street vendor that sold pashmina scarves for $5.00!! I’m sure it’s not the real thing but it did the job and the color complimented my outfit of the day. I love the mustard yellow scarf so much it gave me some wedding color inspiration. Yellow is a great color for the fall and a mix of espresso and gold will make for a elegant spin on the traditional fall wedding colors. This just goes to show you that you can find your wedding inspiration any where! Enjoy!!
